History of the company

The Company was established in 1976 as a natural evolution of Petratto Book Binding & Converting Company, founded by Luigi Petratto in 1938.

Since 1971, thanks to the efforts of the new owner, Giorgio Petratto, the company started the production of post press machines, beginning with a simple book feeder and culminating in the more sophisticated machinery seen in the range today.

1998 is the breakthrough year: thanks to new digital technologies, we started building the first CORDOBA, the top of the line of creasing and folding equipments.

In a crescendo of accomplishments, the flagship of folder gluers METRO was launched in 2002 as a modular and flexible machine.

Thanks to its new folding and gluing system, this machine opened a new technological path, launching Petratto in the international market, in direct and beating competition against the biggest names in the industry, that later followed the same idea.

In 2015, Petratto expanded its range of machines, introducing the new and innovative PDF74, a fully automatic platen die cutter for small and middle runs.

In 2016, we welcomed the newborn Eclipse, a die cutting machine combining laser cut with a totally new concept of mechanical die creasing.
